本标准规定了采用β因子、BQ因子、BPF因子和M矩阵对高能激光光束质量的评价与测试方法。
本标准适用于持续时间不小于0.25 s、功率不小于10 kW或脉冲能量不小于500 J的高能激光光束质量的评价和测试，其他类型高能激光的评价可参照执行。
