本标准规定了金属圆管横向弯曲试验的术语和定义、符号及说明、原理、试验设备、试样、样坯切取及试样制备、试验要求及步骤、结果评定和试验报告。

本标准适用于外径不小于60 mm的金属管（金属管包括无缝圆管和直缝焊圆管）横向弧形试样以及外径不小于400 mm的金属管横向矩形试样的弯曲试验。其他管可参照执行。
