GB/T 33588的本部分规定了雷击计数器的要求和试验方法。雷击计数器安装在防雷装置的某一部分导体或电涌保护器（SPD）的连接导体上，流经这些导体的雷电流仅是全部雷电流的一部分。
注：雷击计数器也适用于危险环境。安装于此条件下的部件要考虑必要的附加要求。
