本标准适用于各类经过或未经过防水整理或拒水整理的织物。与作用较为剧烈的邦德斯门法(GB/T 14577)或淋雨法(GB/T 23321)相比，本方法更适用于中等疏松结构的织物。
本标准不适用于在一定张力条件下无法抻平的织物。
