本标准规定了天然石开采叉装车（以下简称“叉装车”)的术语和定义、危险一览表、安全要求和/或安全措施及判定、安全要求和/或防护措施的验证、使用信息。
本标准是从物理性能和预定使用方面对叉装车提出的限制，所规定的安全要求适用于GB/T 15706 规定的机器寿命期内各阶段所产生的危险。
本标准适用于在矿山、石材场、码头等场合用于叉取、转运、堆放石材等块状物体，额定载重量为10 000 kg～45 000 kg 的叉装车。大于45 000 kg的叉装车可参照执行。
