本标准规定了测定石油产品光安定性的仪器设备、试剂材料、试验步骤、数据处理和精密度等内容。
本标准适用于浅色的精制石油产品，包括石蜡、白油、液体石蜡、橡胶填充油、绝缘油、润滑油基础油和喷气燃料等，其光安定性测定范围为+30赛波特颜色号～-16赛波特颜色号。
本标准不适用于汽油、溶剂油、石脑油等轻质石油产品，以及柴油、润滑油等深色石油产品。
