本标准规定了标准喷嘴的结构形式、技术要求、使用方法、安装和操作条件、检定要求；给出了天然气标准参比条件下的体积流量和能量流量、质量流量以及它们测量不确定度的计算方法。
本标准适用于采用标准喷嘴对以甲烷为主要成分的单相混合气体、在整个测量段内流体保持亚音速流动的流量测量。
本标准不适用于脉动流的测量也不适用于在直径小于50 mm或大于500 mm的管道中使用。
