GB／T 3452的本部分规定了液压气动用O形橡胶密封圈(以下简称O形圈)外观质量检验的判定依据，O形圈的标准尺寸规定于GB／T 3452.1；ISO 160311和ISO 160312。
GB／T 3452的本部分对O形圈的表面缺陷进行了定义和分类，并对这些缺陷规定了最大允许极限值。
GB／T 3452的本部分也适用航空航天工程中使用的O形圈。
