GB/T 34939的本部分规定了±800 kV直流环氧玻璃纤维实心芯体支柱复合绝缘子（以下简称绝缘子）的定义、特性、试验分类、试验方法及判定。
本部分适用于±800 kV直流换流站电力设备和装置用实心支柱复合绝缘子。
注： 所述的绝缘子主要承受弯曲、扭转负荷。在一些特殊情况下，绝缘子也可能承受拉伸或压缩负荷。
本部分不适用于开关设备用绝缘子，也不适用于环氧玻璃纤维空心芯体支柱复合绝缘子。
本部分不包含特殊运行条件下绝缘子的选择要求。
