本标准规定了金属材料激光和电子束窄焊缝横截面的维氏和努氏硬度试验。 本标准规定的维氏硬度试验力范围通常为0.098 N～≤98 N（HV 0.01～≤HV 10），努氏硬度试验力范围通常为不大于9.8 N（HK 1）。
本标准适用于采用或不采用填充丝的焊缝试样的硬度试验。
本标准不适用于采用激光/电弧复合宽焊缝试样的硬度试验。
非窄焊缝的硬度试验按GB/T 2654和GB/T 27552执行。
