本标准规定了一种管道弱磁检测方法，用于磁场信号强度通常在0.1 mT以下铁磁材质管道的几何变形、裂纹、材料损失、穿孔等损伤检测。
本标准适用于不处理表面保护层或覆盖层的管道直接检测和埋地管道的不开挖检测。
本标准不适用于检测螺旋焊缝处损伤，不适用于有金属覆盖层的管道。
