GB/T 36103的本部分规定了优选系列EFD型磁心与机械互换性有关的重要尺寸，以及与磁心一起使用的线圈骨架的基本尺寸和计算这类磁心所用的有效参数值。
本部分基于这样的原则选取磁心尺寸：国家标准以及工业中广泛使用和定型的磁心尺寸。有关选择磁心的更多的细则见IEC 623171。
