本标准规定了往复式内燃机驱动的陆用和船用交流发电机组（以下简称机组）用控制器的术语、定义、分类、技术要求以及检验规则、试验方法、标志、标签、包装、贮存和运输、制造厂的保证等要求。本标准适用于额定电压不高于500 V，额定频率为50 Hz的机组用控制器。
60 Hz交流发电机组、直流发电机组、中频发电机组、双频发电机组及高电压发电机组用控制器可参照使用。
