本标准规定了在一个或多个反射平面附近的近似自由声场环境下用包围声源(机器或者设备)的测量面上测得的声压级来测定噪声源声功率级或声能量级的方法。利用这些测量来计算噪声源产生的频带或A计权声功率级(或者在脉冲噪声或瞬态噪声情况下的声能量级)。
注： 对一给定的噪声源不同形状的测量面可能得到不同的声功率级估算值而相应制定的一个噪声测试规程(见GB/T 19052)给出了有关测量面选择的详细资料。
