本标准规定了玻璃材料弯曲强度试验的术语和定义、原理、试验及试验报告。
<br/ 本标准中的三点弯曲法适用于玻璃等脆性材料的弯曲强度测试。
本标准中的四点弯曲法适用于退火玻璃、钢化玻璃、半钢化玻璃、压花玻璃等平板玻璃的弯曲强度测试，不适用于夹层玻璃及中空玻璃等复合玻璃的弯曲强度测试。
本标准不适用于厚度为3 mm以下的玻璃弯曲强度测试。
本标准也可以单独用于评价玻璃边缘对弯曲强度的影响。
