本标准适用于分子生物学实验室对于常规样本（新鲜样本）的核酸（基因组DNA与总RNA）提取纯化方法的一般性评价。
本标准不适用于病毒核酸的提取，游离DNA的提取，陈旧样本、微量样本与高度降解样本核酸的提取方法的评价，也不适用于在提取过程中通过添加外源DNA或RNA以提高提取效率的核酸提取方法的评价。
