本标准规定了工业机器人生命周期风险评价方法的基本原则、风险评价程序及文件要求，并给出了工业机器人危险源识别、AGV危险源识别及风险评价和风险减小实例。
本标准适用于工业机器人的生命周期风险评价。本标准建立的安全原则可被其他类型的机器人参考使用。
本标准不包含工业机器人系统集成的风险评价。针对特殊的应用（焊接、激光切割、机械加工等)可能产生另外的危险，这些危险宜进行针对性的风险评估。
