GB/T 38696的本部分规定了强光源(非激光)防护镜的光辐射伤害风险评估与控制措施、防护镜的选择、佩戴舒适性和二次安全等内容。
本部分适用于防御辐射波长介于250 nm～3 000 nm之间强光源危害的眼部护具。
本部分针对强光源（非激光）防护镜的选择提供指南，为防止眼部受到来自强光源（非激光）设备光谱输出的伤害提供了一套更为严格的防护程序，可供强光源（非激光）防护镜的用户、生产商、供应商和安全咨询机构使用。
本部分不适用于焊接防护镜、激光防护镜、太阳镜、眼科仪器、日晒或其他医疗美容设备上装配的部件。
注： 强光源防护镜广泛应用于工业加工、食品加工、温室种植、医疗美容、水处理、光固化等存在强光源危害的领域。
