本标准适用于外径不小于10 mm且壁厚不大于20 mm的铁磁性管件（焊管除外)在制造、加工和修复的过程中，对管件壁厚损失的在线检测。
本标准也适用于石油用管、端头加厚钢管壁厚损失的自动检测。
