本标准规定了纸和纸板透气度的三种测定方法：葛尔莱法、肖伯尔法、本特生法。
本标准适用于透气度在1×10 -2 μm／(Pa·s)～1×10 2 μm/(Pa·s)之间的纸和纸板。
本标准不适用于表面粗糙度较大，且不能被牢固夹紧的纸和纸板，如皱纹纸或瓦楞纸板。
