本标准规定了非金属基体红外辐射加热器的型式规格、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、使用说明书、包装、运输和贮存等内容。
本标准适用于以碳化硅、锆英砂、石英玻璃、微晶玻璃、陶瓷、黑化锆、黑磁、钒钛黑瓷、半导体发热片、碳晶发热板、碳纤维板、聚酯薄膜等非金属材料为辐射基体，以合金电阻丝、碳纤维电阻丝、电阻膜、导电陶瓷等电热材料为发热体的各种低温、中温及高温电热式红外辐射加热器（以下简称加热器）。
加热器作为节能型产品，主要应用于工业、农业、医疗、建筑供暖、交通运输等领域的加热干燥设备上。
