GB/T 4798的本部分规定了产品在IEC 60721-3-3或IEC 60721-3-4的气候条件下使用时，其内部元件(基础件、组件和内装设备)可能遇到的各种微气候条件的等级。
微气候的特性参数是高气温和高相对空气湿度。其他一些气候等级参数如低温对元件也可能有附加影响，但在本部分未予考虑。
考虑到有代表性的极限高气温，规定了有限的若干个微气候等级。
本部分的使用者应选用能满足预期用途的最低等级。
