GB/T 4937的本部分规定了耐焊接热的试验方法，以确定通孔安装的固态封装器件承受波峰焊或烙铁焊接引线时产生的热应力的能力。
为制定具有可重复性的标准试验程序，选用试验条件较易控制的浸焊试验方法。本程序为确定器件组装到电路板时对所需焊接温度的耐受能力，要求器件的电性能不产生退化且内部连接无损伤。
本试验为破坏性试验，可以用于鉴定、批接收及产品检验。
本试验与IEC 60068-2-20基本一致，但鉴于半导体器件的特殊要求，采用本部分的条款。
