本标准规定了钢质焊接气瓶（以下简称“钢瓶”）的基本参数、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则和标志、包装、运输、贮存等。
本标准适用于在正常环境温度-40 ℃～60 ℃下使用的、水压试验压力不大于12 MPa（表压）、公称容积为1 L～1 000 L可重复充装低压液化气体及其与压缩气体的混合物的钢瓶。
本标准也适用于重复充装GB 11174规定的工业用液化石油气的钢瓶及溶解乙炔气瓶的瓶体。
