本标准规定了烧结普通砖的产品分类、等级、规格、标记、一般要求、技术要求、试验方法、检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存等。
本标准适用于以黏土、页岩、煤矸石、粉煤灰、建筑渣土、淤泥（江河湖淤泥)、污泥等为主要原料，经焙烧而成主要用于建筑物承重部位的普通砖（以下简称砖)。
