本标准规定了钢板的厚度方向性能级别、试验方法及检验规则。厚度方向性能级别是对钢板的抗层状撕裂的能力提供的一种量度，厚度方向性能采用厚度方向拉伸试验的断面收缩率来评定。
本标准适用于厚度为15 mm～400 mm的镇静钢钢板。
