本标准界定了棉纺织回用棉、半制品、纱线、织物及其检验的术语和定义。
本标准主要包括以下术语：
--回用棉：棉纺加工过程中产生的各种废棉。
--半制品：从清花到细纱各道工序的产品，包括棉卷、棉条、粗纱和细纱等。
--纱线：由棉纺设备纺制的成品纱线，包括纱和股线等。
--织物：以棉或棉型化纤纱线为主要原料制造的织物，包括机织物和针织物。
--检验：棉纺织产品特有的性能试验和疵点术语。
本标准不包括进入纺织工厂前的原料术语，也不包括由棉织物经缝制加工的服装、家用纺织品等产品术语。
本标准适用于各类棉纺织产品。
