本标准规定了验证起重机性能（包括工作参数和载荷起升能力）的试验、检验和程序（见ISO 7363）。
本标准适用于ISO 4306-1中所定义的，在制造、改造和起重机的承载结构或部件经过修理后，首次投入使用的各类起重机。
当起重机的额定起重量取决于稳定性时，规定的试验程序和试验载荷能易于验证许用稳定裕度。
