本标准规定了由多种水溶性添加剂和水配制而成的合成切削液的产品分类及代号、要求、试验方法检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存及安全。
本标准规定的产品其浓缩液可以是液态、膏状和固体粉剂等形态。使用时，用一定比例的水稀释后，形成透明或半透明的稀释液，适用于金属车削、铣削等多种切削加工工艺的润滑、冷却、防锈等。
