本标准规定了投光照明灯具的光度测试方法，并为投光照明灯具光度测试的实验室设施、试验和投光照明灯具的光度测试报告提供指导。
本标准适用于使用电光源、有稳定视觉照明、安装于室内外的投光照明灯具（以下简称投光灯具）的光度测试。电影或舞台用聚光灯、天幕灯等可参照本标准进行测试。
本标准不适用于道路照明灯具光度测试，本标准也不适用于半峰边角小于2°的（如探照灯）灯具。
本标准应与GB/T 9468一起使用。
