本标准规定了有关阻波器的定义、工作条件、要求、试验和推荐值。
本标准适用于串接于高压和超高压交流电力线中的阻波器。该设备用以防止频率一般在40 kHz ～500 kHz范围内的载波信号在电力系统各种条件下发生过度损耗，并使来自邻近载波的干扰降至最小。
本标准不适用于为其他目的在高压电力线上的电感器以及用于交直流换流站的阻波器。用于交直流换流站的阻波器的有关资料参见附录A。
