本标准规定了用于一般输送和机械化传送用实心和空心销轴套筒链、小滚子链、大滚子链、带边滚子链条以及与这些链条相配的链轮和附件的技术特性。标准中规定的链条尺寸应保证整链和用于维修目的的链节的互换性。
本标准规定的链轮轮齿的适用范围为6～40齿。链轮的控制标准就是保证与链条的正确啮合，运行平稳以及在正常的使用条件下传递负荷。
