本指导性技术文件适用于符合被检测方提出的性能要求的膜电极，采用活性面积为5 cm×5 cm的单电池进行测试，用来评价膜电极（MEA）对燃料电池典型工况的适应性,但不考虑加速测试寿命和实际寿命的对应关系。
