Specification for radio disturbance and immunity measuring apparatus and methods—Part 4-3:Uncertainties,statistics and limit modelling—Statistical considerations in the determination of EMC compliance of mass-produced products
Standard in brief
Scope of Application:
This part of GB/T 6113 describes statistical considerations for determining electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) compliance for bulk products.
Reasons for this statistical consideration:
a) The aim of interference reduction is that the majority of conforming products should not cause interference;
b) CISPR limits need to be appropriate not only for type approval of individual products, but also for type approval of bulk products;
c) Statistical techniques need to be applied to ensure that bulk products comply with CISPR limits;
d) It is important for international trade that each country's understanding of the meaning of these limits should be the same;
e) National Committees of the IEC involved in CISPR cooperation need to make an effort to seek endorsement in their countries.
This part therefore sets out requirements and provides guidance based on statistical techniques. Bulk product EMC compliance needs to be based on the application of a statistical technique which should assure the consumer that 80% of the products of the type under study meet the emission or immunity requirements with 80% confidence. The general requirements of the 80%/80% criterion are given in Chapter 4. Chapter 5 gives more specific requirements for the application of the 80%/80% criterion to emission testing. Chapter 6 gives guidance on the application of the CISPR 80%/80% Guidelines to immunity testing. The 80%/80% Guidelines protect the consumer from being offered a product that does not comply with the limits, but this does not represent the probability of acceptance of a sampled batch of products. However, the probability of acceptance is again very important to the manufacturer. Appendix A gives more information on the probability of acceptance (the manufacturer's risk).
