本标准适用于外科植入物用原生半结晶型聚(L-丙交酯)或聚(D-丙交酯)均聚物树脂，也适用于由L-丙交酯与其他生物可吸收单体共聚的半结晶型树脂。这些单体包括但不限于乙交酯，D-丙交酯和DL-丙交酯。本标准中的聚(L-丙交酯)或聚(D-丙交酯)均聚物和共聚物因含有足够长的丙交酯片段，所以退火后会引起其潜在结晶。此聚合物通常具有等于或超过50％的L-丙交酯的摩尔分数。本标准特别适用于全同立构丙交酯系嵌段共聚物或由总摩尔分数差值超过1.5％的D-丙交酯和L-丙交酯的复合物所合成的聚合物或共聚物。本标准包括能在30 ℃下充分溶于二氯甲烷或三氯甲烷的原生半结晶型的聚乳酸基树脂。
