Scope of Application：
本标准规定了蒸汽灭菌器(以下简称灭菌器)生物安全性能要求的术语和定义、要求和试验方法。
注1： 本标准的灭菌器包括大型蒸汽灭菌器、小型蒸汽灭菌器和立式蒸汽灭菌器。
本标准适用于以生物安全为目的的材料、器械、器皿、培养基以及废弃物等物品的灭菌以防止通过气溶胶等方式传播的致病因子对人员、动植物或环境造成污染。
注2： 本标准中规定的灭菌器用于有以下生物安全需求的实验室或其他场所：操作能够引起人类或者动物严重疾病比较容易直接或者间接在人与人、动物与人、动物与动物间传播的微生物；操作能够引起人类或者动物非常严重疾病的微生物；以及我国尚未发现或者已经宣布消灭的微生物。
本标准不适用密闭性液体的灭菌。
本标准与GB 8599、YY 0646、YY 1007结合使用并优先于这些标准。
