本标准规定了固体绝缘材料试验时试样暴露的时间、温度、大气湿度和浸液的可接受条件，范围足够宽以保证可供我们选定合适的条件，从而达到a)或b)中的任何一个目的。为得到较理想的试验结果的重现性：a）〓部分消除在试验前试样所经历的环境条件对试样性能的影响（通常称为“正常化处理”，本标准称之为预处理）；b）保证在试验期间的条件一致。本标准不适用于确定某些温度和湿度或浸液对材料的影响，GB/T 2421.1-2008给出了与环境影响有关的材料的规程。
