本标准规定了统一螺纹搓制和滚制前的毛坯直径尺寸。统一螺纹公称直径范围为0.060 0 in~2.000 0 in （1/4 in以后只有第1系列直径；牙数系列有UNC、UNF、UNEF、8UN、12UN和16UN六种，最少牙数为6牙)；螺纹公差带有2A和3A两种。本标准适用于全牙型挤压工艺加工碳素钢和合金钢材料的统一螺纹。〓〓注： “全牙型挤压工艺”指在螺纹挤压成形时，螺纹材料完全充满刀具牙底空间的加工方法。
