本文件规定了爆炸性环境用发出光辐射的设备的要求、试验和标志，也包括位于爆炸性环境之外或由GB/T 3836.1中列出的防爆型式保护，但产生的光辐射会进入爆炸性环境的设备。本文件包括Ⅰ类、Ⅱ类和Ⅲ类以及EPL Ga、Gb、Gc、Da、Db、Dc、Ma和Mb。
本文件适用于波长范围为380 nm～10 μm的光辐射。包括下述的点燃机理。
——表面或颗粒吸收光辐射后，温度升高，在某些条件下，会达到点燃周围爆炸性环境的温度。
——在罕见特殊情况下，强光束聚焦处激光直接击穿气体，产生等离子和冲击波，二者最终成为点燃源。接近击穿点的固体材料会加剧这个过程。
