本文件给出了低合金钢耐大气腐蚀的三种评估方法。方法一为基于钢短期腐蚀数据的预测方法；方法二为基于钢化学成分的预测方法；方法三为基于环境因素和钢化学成分的预测方法。
本文件中方法一适用于利用特定级别低合金钢在不同环境中已有的短期大气腐蚀数据，对其长期腐蚀损失进行评估；方法二适用于基于耐蚀性指数（I）对低合金钢的相对耐蚀性能进行评估；方法三适用于对低合金钢在不同环境下不同时间的腐蚀损失进行估算。
注：这三种方法是基于平板裸钢暴露试样的试验数据计算得到的。当低合金钢长时间处于湿润状态，或者被一些盐类或其他腐蚀化学物质严重侵蚀时，则实际大气腐蚀速率就会高很多。
