本文件规定了船用聚乙烯(PE)管材及管件的材料、管件分类、规格尺寸、爆破压力与静液压强度、物理力学性能、系统适用性等要求，描述了相应的试验方法，规定了检验规则、标志、包装、运输和贮存要求。
本文件适用于工作温度不高于60 ℃，最大工作压力(MOP)不大于1.6 MPa，安装于船用压载水舱、露天甲板、舱柜、空舱、管隧、导孔内的非重要管道系统，包括压载水管系、生活水管系、灰黑水管系。
本文件规定的管道系统不适用于有耐火、抑烟以及导电等要求的场所。
