本标准规定了高纯锡的要求、试验方法、检验规则和标志、包装、运输、贮存、质量证明书以及合同（或订货单)内容。
本标准适用于以含锡99.90％及以上的精锡为原料经电解等工艺制得的纯度不小于99.999%的锡；以Sn05锡为原料经直拉单晶提纯等工艺制得的纯度不小于99.999 9%及99.999 99%的锡。产品供制备高纯合金、化合物半导体、超导材料、焊料以及化合物半导体的掺杂剂、氧化铟锡靶材（ITO)等。
