本文件适用于模数m为0.1 mm～0.5 mm、轴交角∑为90°的圆柱蜗杆蜗轮副。其中，蜗杆分度圆
直径d₁≤30 mm,蜗轮分度圆直径d₂≤320 mm,蜗杆类型为阿基米德蜗杆(ZA)、渐开线蜗杆(ZI)、法向直廓蜗杆(ZN)和锥面包络蜗杆(ZK)。
本文件也适用于渐开线蜗杆(ZI)和渐开线斜齿轮组成的蜗杆斜齿轮副。
